On a personal note:

After a year of extreme loss, life-altering change, and pulling up just about everything that was familiar to me, my best friend/producer and I wrote six songs about this heart-wrenching process. From the weeding, to the tilling, and the planting again, there's a song for each stage of the journey. After months of writing, we were lucky enough to record these six tracks at an amazing studio in Nashville called Welcome to 1979. At this adorable and oh-so-kitschy studio we recorded live, straight to tape, using just two vocal takes. Everything you hear is raw, gritty, and as authentic as we could manage - which is exactly how I want my music to be - just a little edgy and completely (even uncomfortably) real. Thanks to all of those who have walked alongside me on this path. May these songs find fertile soil in your hearts. -Sarah
