Happy first day of the month, friends! I am so proud to present to you this lovely new song called Broken Melody, which is the fourth song on the Tangled Roots EP! While the last song was my favorite, this is my producer's favorite track. It's easy going, melodic, and it talks about finally feeling comfortable in your own song...even if it's a bit broken or off tempo at times. I hope you love it as much as we do!
This track is perhaps my favorite track on the album, entitled What's Done Is Done. Whereas the last track was about the things that haunt us, this one is about gaining space from those things. It's about learning to walk away. And it's oh so full of soul! Happy listening!!
It's August, and as promised, here is the second installment of the Tangled Roots EP!! I am thrilled to present this song to you. It's called Lie Still and it's definitely one of the grittiest songs on the album.
It's about going to the dark places and wrestling those inner demons.
It's about being at the end of your rope and struggling with the things that haunt you.
It's about the dark, long, sleepless nights.
This song was an experiment in creating a musical piece that tells a story that so often goes untold. I think it's perfect and I am thrilled to share this part of the journey with you!

Tangled Roots is a new 6 song EP, but more than that, it's a musical journey that tells the story of uprooting and replanting. For those of you who know me, this last year was one of major transition - relationships, communities, cities, jobs - it all changed. And with all the grief that went with these losses came a certain grit. These are the songs that came from the uprooting process.
This first track, the title track, is the opening of the story. Tangled Roots....when you need to change, but what's worth keeping and what's worth tearing up is perfectly tangled, twisted, and unclear. Sometimes, it all has to go.
